Trullo Thalia – Trullo with Private Pool in Ostuni

Trullo Thalia is a white trullo with stone cones, all to yourselves, in the countryside between Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica. It is surrounded by olive trees, fruit trees and dry-stone walls, with a private pool and a large stone sun deck in front. Ostuni's centre is a quarter of an hour's drive away and the sea about twenty minutes. It sleeps up to 4 guests.

The trullo has been restored keeping its original exposed stone, arches and niches, with all the comfort of a modern home. It covers 119 m², all on the ground floor. The heart of the house is the room under the cone, with a round wooden table for four, a built-in masonry bench with cushions and a Smart TV. Next to it is the small sitting room with a sofa, whose French window opens straight onto the pool. The kitchen has an induction hob, oven, built-in dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, capsule coffee machine, kettle and toaster, with windows looking onto the olive trees. Bedroom 1 is under one of the trullo's cones: a double bed, niches in the stone and reading lamps. Next to the dining area is the first bathroom, with a walk-in rain shower, toilet, bidet and hairdryer. A short ramp leads to bedroom 2, in the lamia with its stone vault: a double bed, a built-in wardrobe, a French window onto a small outdoor corner with a table, and a private bathroom with rain shower, toilet, bidet and hairdryer. The cupboards along the hallway hold a washing machine, an iron and an ironing board. There is air conditioning and heating in every room, and Wi-Fi.

Outside, the private pool, about 10×4 metres and unheated, has entry steps, five sun loungers, an outdoor shower and a long masonry bench with cushions along the dry-stone wall. The reed-covered pergola is the outdoor dining room: a wooden table, an L-shaped masonry bench and a worktop with a sink. Among the trees in the garden there is a wood-fired masonry barbecue. Bed linen, towels and pool towels are included.

Guests have exclusive use of the whole property, with no shared spaces: the trullo, the pool and sun deck, the pergola, the barbecue, the garden and the private parking, with room for 3-4 cars. The property is fenced and you enter through an electric gate. The tool shed near the barbecue is locked and not accessible to guests.

We welcome you in person on arrival and are available before your trip and throughout your stay, also on WhatsApp, with a local contact person for anything you need. We are happy to recommend beaches, restaurants and villages. We only come onto the property when necessary, for example for pool maintenance, and always with advance notice.

The trullo is in Contrada Sessana, in the countryside south-west of Ostuni towards Ceglie Messapica, among olive groves and dry-stone walls. It is a quiet area, with other houses scattered around the contrada. Ostuni's white old town and Ceglie Messapica, known for its food, are a few minutes' drive away. The beaches of the Ostuni coast, such as Rosa Marina, Villanova and Costa Merlata, are about 20-25 minutes away. Cisternino, Locorotondo, Martina Franca and Alberobello, with its UNESCO World Heritage trulli, make easy day trips.

You will need a car: the trullo is in the countryside and there are no restricted traffic zones (ZTL) on the way. Parking is private and free, on the property. The last 20 metres or so are on a dirt road. The trullo is about 7 km from Ostuni's old town and from Ceglie Messapica, about 10 km from Ostuni railway station, 15-18 km from the beaches, about 45 km from Brindisi airport and about 100 km from Bari airport, which you can reach by taxi or rental car.

House rules
Check-in is from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and we welcome you in person at the trullo.
If you arrive after 8:00 pm, we can welcome you until 11:00 pm for a €50 fee, to be arranged in advance.
Check-out is by 10:00 am.
At check-in, Italian rental law requires a valid ID for each guest and the signing of the rental agreement, together with a €500 security deposit, which is refunded within 7 days of departure.
The house sleeps a maximum of 4 guests.
It is all on the ground floor, with a short ramp between the living area and bedroom 2 and two steps between the sun deck and the path; the outdoor stone steps on the trullo are not suitable for climbing and we advise against using them.
The pool is open from 1 May to 31 October: please always supervise children.
There is no cot or high chair, but on request we can help you rent them.
Pets are not allowed, smoking is not allowed indoors, and parties and events are not permitted.
The tourist tax is €2 per person per night and is paid through the online check-in.
