Trullo Leontina – Trullo and Lamia with Pool in Ceglie Messapica

Trullo Leontina is a trullo and a traditional Apulian lamia, restored and all to yourselves, in the countryside between Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica. Two independent houses open onto the same stone courtyard, among centuries-old olive trees and dry-stone walls, with an 8×5 m swimming pool and an outdoor stone kitchen. It sleeps up to 8 guests, and your dog is welcome too.

The property covers 179 m², all on the ground floor, divided into two independent houses: you cross the courtyard to go from one to the other. You enter Trullo Leonzio through a stone arch. The living room has wooden beams, a stone fireplace, a TV and a double sofa bed; the double bedroom sits beneath the trullo's cone, with niches in the stone and a wood-burning stove; the large eat-in kitchen, with its vaulted ceiling, has a table for eight. The bathroom has a rain shower and an exposed stone wall. A few steps inside connect the rooms. Lamia Tina is all on one level: a living room with a masonry kitchen, fireplace and wood-burning stove, two double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. Both kitchens have a gas hob, a small electric oven, a fridge-freezer and a coffee machine; there is no dishwasher or microwave. The house also has air conditioning, Wi-Fi, an outdoor laundry room with washing machine, and an iron and ironing board.

Outside is the 8×5 m pool, 1.40 m deep, with a wide shallow seating ledge and masonry steps. Its telescopic cover traps the sun's heat, so you can use the pool from opening in late March until November. Around it are a sun deck with six loungers and umbrellas, and outdoor showers. You can cook outside in the stone kitchen under the pergola, with sink and gas burner, or on the barbecue. The trullo's patio has a daybed and a small dining spot for two. The lamia's large terrace has a table for eight under the pergola and a wicker lounge area. There is also a table in the shade of a large tree, and a garden with centuries-old olive trees.

Guests have exclusive use of the entire property, with no shared spaces: both houses, the pool and sun deck, the outdoor kitchen, the laundry room, the garden and on-site parking. You arrive along an unpaved lane through the olive grove, closed at the start by a padlocked gate: the key is on the set we give you at check-in.

We are available before your arrival and throughout your stay, also on WhatsApp, for anything you need and for tips on beaches, restaurants and villages. Before you arrive we send you the exact location and a short video showing the route, the keys and how the house works. There are security cameras in the outdoor areas only; there are none inside the houses.

The property is in Contrada Lamia Nuova, in the countryside between Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica, on the edge of the Itria Valley. Ceglie Messapica, with its ducal castle and renowned traditional cuisine, is about 10 minutes away by car; Cisternino and Ostuni's old town about 15. Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Alberobello, with its UNESCO World Heritage trulli, make easy day trips. The Adriatic beaches between Torre Canne and Rosa Marina are about 25–30 minutes away.

You will need a car: the house is in the countryside, and villages and beaches are reached by car. There are no restricted traffic zones; free parking is available inside the property, along the unpaved lane. Approximate driving times: Ceglie Messapica 10 minutes, Ostuni 15, Martina Franca 20, Ostuni railway station 20, Brindisi airport 40, Bari airport 1 hour 15.

House rules
Check-in is from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at our reception or in person at the property.
Between 8:00 pm and 11:00 pm we can welcome you for a €50 fee.
Check-out is by 10:00 am.
At check-in, Italian rental law requires a valid ID for every guest and the signing of the rental agreement; we also take a €300 security deposit.
The pool has no heating system: at the start and end of the season the water temperature depends on the weather; it is not fenced, so children must always be supervised.
Pets are welcome for a €50 cleaning fee.
Smoking is not allowed indoors, and parties and events are not permitted.
