Casa Pascal – House with Rooftop Terrace near Ostuni’s Old Town

Casa Pascal is a period house all to yourselves in Ostuni’s 19th-century quarter, a few minutes’ walk from the old town. It has star vaults, terrazzo floors, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a private roof terrace looking out over the town’s white rooftops. It sleeps 4 in beds and up to 6 with the sofa bed. You park on the street near the house, outside the old town’s limited traffic zone.

The house covers 91 m² over several levels connected by indoor stairs. From the front door on Via De Cristoforis, after four marble steps, a long staircase with a handrail leads up to the first floor.

The first floor is the living area. The living room sits under star vaults, with a terrazzo floor and a white chandelier. It has a dining table for four, a double sofa bed, an armchair, a TV, a built-in bookcase and a vintage radio; the air conditioning provides both cooling and heating. Next to it is the separate eat-in kitchen, with induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge, washing machine, capsule coffee machine and a table with four chairs.

The double bedroom and the first bathroom are on the same floor. The bedroom has a blue feature wall with framed majolica prints, a large six-door wardrobe with mirror, a chest of drawers, an armchair and a tower fan. The bathroom has a shower cubicle, bidet, washbasin on a marble top and a heated towel rail.

A marble staircase with a handrail leads up from the living room. Halfway up, on the half-landing, is the second bathroom, with a sit bath and hand shower that can also be used as a shower. On the second floor is the second bedroom, under a vaulted ceiling, with two single beds that can be pushed together to make a double. It has air conditioning, a TV, a chest of drawers, a clothes rail and a decorative fireplace.

A last flight of stairs leads to the gate of the terrace, which is private and all yours, on the roof of the house. Under a reed pergola there is a table with four chairs and a masonry shelf. In the sun there is a lounge area with four armchairs and a coffee table, plus two sun loungers, with views over the white rooftops and the bell tower.

The house also has Wi-Fi, mosquito screens, radiators, an ironing board and a vacuum cleaner, as well as a digital guide to Ostuni via QR code.

Guests have exclusive use of the whole house, with a private front door on the street and no shared spaces: living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and roof terrace. Arrival is by self check-in: the keys are in a key box and you receive the code after the online check-in.

Casa Pascal is on Via Pietro De Cristoforis, in Ostuni’s 19th-century quarter, a residential area just outside the old town. In about 10 minutes on foot you reach Piazza della Libertà with the column of Sant’Oronzo and the lanes of the White City, with the Cathedral, the viewpoints along the walls, restaurants and craft shops. The Marina di Ostuni beaches, from Villanova to Costa Merlata, are about 8–12 km away, a 15–20 minute drive. Inland, Cisternino, Locorotondo, Martina Franca and Alberobello, with its UNESCO World Heritage trulli, make lovely day trips.

The house has no private parking space, but it is outside the old town: you park on the street nearby, usually free of charge. You walk to the old town; you’ll need a car for the beaches and villages. Distances:

House rules
Check-in is from 4 pm to 8 pm and is self-service: the keys are in a key box and you receive the code after the online check-in. Late check-in from 8 pm to 11 pm is possible on request. Check-out is by 10 am.

During the online check-in you send the IDs of all guests and sign the rental agreement, as required by Italian law. A security deposit of €250 is required. The tourist tax is €2 per person per night and is paid through the online check-in.

The house is on several levels: at the entrance there are four outdoor steps and a long indoor staircase, and marble stairs lead up to the second bedroom, the second bathroom and the terrace. There is no lift, so it is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility, and young children must be supervised on the stairs and terrace. Pets are not allowed.

Smoking is not allowed indoors and parties and events are not permitted. Please sort your waste following the municipal collection calendar.
