Once a home and a "palmento" – the traditional place for winemaking – this historic house has now become an elegant retreat for travelers seeking authenticity and beauty. The large stone vats where grapes were once crushed have been respectfully transformed into bright, welcoming spaces of conviviality, without betraying the original soul of the place.
Inside, Palmento Giorgio offers five spacious bedrooms, tastefully furnished with great attention to traditional materials. The common areas – two fully equipped kitchens, a convivial dining room, and a large living room with a historic fireplace – tell stories of family and warmth. The ancient stone fireplace, now visible from two rooms thanks to a refined renovation, is the heart of the house, perfect for cozy evenings.
Every detail has been curated with care: star-vaulted ceilings, original cement-tile floors, and walls adorned with botanical illustrations from Giorgio's very own Herbal Manual, reflect a heritage of rural wisdom and deep respect for nature. Still intact next to the house is the old wood-fired oven, once the domestic heart where Giorgio's wife, Vita, lovingly prepared bread, taralli, and focaccia.
Outside, wide verandas and shaded lounges offer the perfect setting for dinners under the stars or peaceful moments of rest. The private garden, surrounded by fruit trees and vineyards, overlooks the cultivated fields surrounding the property. A fenced private parking area and an electric car charging station complete the modern comforts designed for today’s guests.
