The name of the property holds a story deeply rooted in local farming culture: the fiscolo (from the Latin fiscus, meaning "basket" or "bag") is the historic filtering disk used during olive pressing. Once crushed into a paste, the olives were placed inside these woven disks (originally made of rush, coconut, or hemp fibers, later replaced by synthetic fibers in the 1950s), which retained the solid pomace while letting the liquid mixture of oil and water flow through. Today, although centrifugal mills have almost entirely replaced traditional fiscoli for efficiency, these items have been reborn as elegant, evocative decorative elements—which you can discover and admire inside this unique "home of the fiscolo".
The apartment spans two levels connected by steep and picturesque stone stairs, offering an authentic and private atmosphere. It is the perfect choice for those who wish to experience the charm of the ancient village and enjoy relaxing outdoor moments, just a short distance from the beaches of the Adriatic coast and the wonders of the Itria Valley.
Access to the property is via a flight of steep stairs. On the first level, you are welcomed into a cozy living room with a sofa bed, followed by a well-equipped kitchenette with a dining area, a half bath, and a shower enclosure positioned along the stairwell. Climbing another flight of stairs leads to the second level, consisting of a second half bath and a bright double bedroom featuring vaulted ceilings. From the bedroom, you step directly onto the highlight of the home: a private terrace furnished with outdoor seating, ideal for breakfasts and aperitifs in the sun. The property is equipped with air conditioning, heating, and free Wi-Fi.
Guests will have exclusive access to the entire apartment with no shared spaces, including the living room, dining area with kitchenette, half baths, double bedroom, and private furnished terrace. Note: Due to the steep stairs, the property may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility.

A car is recommended to get around comfortably; public parking is available nearby. The property is about a 10-minute drive from Savelletri, 50 km from Bari Airport, and 55 km from Brindisi Airport. The Fasano train station is just a few minutes away.
